Make a cut list from a Fusion 360 model
If you design in Autodesk Fusion, you don't need to retype every part. Plywise Pro imports a BODY DIMENSIONS text listing and turns each body into a part.
Updated 2026-10-29
What the import expects
The import reads plain text with one body per line, in the form Name: length x width x thickness unit. A BODY DIMENSIONS heading line is optional. For example:
BODY DIMENSIONS Top: 48.000 x 3.500 x 0.750 in Side: 19.924 x 5.243 x 0.750 in Divider: 5.250 x 3.641 x 0.750 in
- Units can be
in,mmorcm, and are converted to the project's units. - The first two dimensions become the part's length and width, in the order shown. The third, thickness, is ignored; you pick the material for the imported parts instead.
- Each line adds one part. Existing parts are kept.
Importing into Plywise
- Open Plywise and go to Parts.
- Choose Import Fusion. On a phone, it's in the Import menu.
- Paste the text, or choose the .txt file, and pick the material for the parts.
- Untick any bodies you don't want, then import.
- Add your sheet stock and press Optimize.
Tips
- Name bodies in Fusion the way you want them on the cut list and labels.
- Check which dimension came first for parts that need grain direction, and set grain on those parts after importing.
- Fusion import is part of Plywise Pro. On the free plan you can still import parts from CSV.
